OBJECTIVES & FUNCTIONS
1. Research and Development. The CBFNRM-RDMCFI shall
engage in environment –related
research projects and shall act
as supplementary R&D arm of the first 4,900 CBFMs and future similar programs
and shall pursue a
systematic and scientific method of gathering
and presenting data for the projects and programs.
2. Marketing – The CBFNRM-RDMCFI shall engage in marketing, inter-trading, and exports activity for and on behalf of the CBFMs in
order to provide income for our farmers and food
producers in the rural communities and inspire them to continuously cultivate the land both for
their own gain as well as the food production purposes for the nation. This shall be done through its subsidiary organization,
the FEDERATED FLEA
MARKET TRADERS AND PROMOTERS OF CBFNRM PRODUCTS. This marketing program is geared towards the successful implementation
of CBFMs. The farmers’ spouses,
relatives, and other cooperating traders shall co-manage
the “tiangges” where the products from the CBFM farms and
water systems will be sold.
3. Communications -
The CBFNRM-RDMCFI shall act as the communications arm of the CBFNRM --
collecting, verifying, developing, applying, and disseminating information
on behalf of the communities. A regular
quarterly periodical shall be published for such purposes. Special editions shall be published as the need arises. Other publications of national circulation, the broadcast, and radio media shall also be tapped for press releases and newsworthy
events.
4.
Training - Regular training sessions on R & D and technological
advances related
to the industry shall be conducted in respective CBFNRM areas and other appropriate venue.
The major goal shall be community relations, livelihood, conflict resolution, and empowerment .
5. Program Implementation -
Shall be based on The CBFNRM Declaration of Principles, Plans, and
Projects which is inspired by the Johannesburg Plan of Implementation and other global agreements
and protocols.
6. Affiliations / Linkage/Cooperation. - The promotion of understanding and cooperation between communities is key to fostering
protocols of mutual trust, respect, and equality that must characterize relations between communities, government, and all
other parties and institutions involved in the
management of natural resources. CBFNRM-RDMCFI shall affiliate,
integrate, cooperate, collaborate, merge,
with government agencies, private institutions/associations, community organizations, and other groups sharing
similar purpose, objective, activity, program, or policy. CBFNRM-RDMCFI shall have a partnership, affiliation, collaboration, and cooperation with
the DENR and DAR, as well as NGAs, NGOs, and other private companies and organizations.
